Brake fluid testers are used to determine the quality of brake fluid. It is used to determine the change in moisture content of the brake fluid based on the change in electrical conductivity. The moisture content is clearly displayed by means of a light emitting diode. High levels of moisture will lower the boiling point and then affect the braking performance of the car. Red indicates that the brake fluid needs to be changed immediately, green indicates that the brake fluid is in good condition, and yellow indicates that the brake fluid is holding up well but will change.
It is constructed of nylon material.
